About Kingston Bread + Bar
Kingston Bread + Bar is a community-centered bakery and café in Uptown Kingston, celebrated for its naturally leavened breads, inventive sandwiches, and warm neighborhood energy. What began in 2017 as Kingston Bread Lab—a one-man home baking project with a loyal circle of weekly subscribers—has evolved into one of the Hudson Valley’s most beloved gathering spots. After early pop-ups at Rough Draft Bar & Books and popular Saturday bagel brunches, the team opened their North Front Street location in early 2020, expanding into a full all-day bakery and bar serving breakfast, lunch, coffee, and drinks.
The heart of Kingston Bread + Bar lies in its craft. Every loaf is leavened naturally with sourdough starter and fermented for at least 24 hours, using organic flours sourced from regional mills including Hudson Valley Farm Hub, Farmer Ground, Sparrowbush Farm, Champlain Valley Milling, and Maine Grains. Shaped and baked entirely by hand, the breads embody a balance of flavor, texture, and care that defines the bakery’s philosophy. Alongside its signature loaves and bagels, the kitchen turns out a rotating menu of croissants, cookies, and pastries, plus hearty favorites like the egg sandwich on a milk-bread bun and the “Il Voltrono” Italian hoagie.
