About The Hereafter

Tucked unassumingly on Columbia Street in Hudson, The Hereafter is an intimate cocktail lounge that blends timeless design with meticulous attention to detail. Created by veteran bartender Jeremy Dubroff and actor Isi Laborde, the space was transformed by designer Christian Garnett into a warm, European-inspired haven featuring white oak floors, a walnut bar top, glossy green tiles, and vintage furnishings sourced from around the world. The bar’s concept is rooted in exploration and transformation, with cocktails thoughtfully organized by mood—Fun, Classy, Eccentric, or Deep—each crafted with house-made tinctures, infusions, and unexpected flavor combinations. Every drink tells a story, offering guests an experience that feels both elevated and approachable.

Complementing the inventive cocktails is a small but ambitious menu by chef Michele Hunter, formerly of Hamlet & Ghost in Saratoga Springs. Hunter’s dishes—such as steak tartare with guajillo chile, roasted carrots with housemade harissa and hazelnut dukkah, and silky desserts like lemon posset with sour cherry—showcase her love for fermentation, umami, and seasonal ingredients from the Hudson Valley. With its thoughtfully designed interiors, hand-sewn menus, and a warm, transportive atmosphere, The Hereafter invites guests to slow down, connect, and explore new flavors. It has quickly become one of Hudson’s hidden gems, offering an elevated yet approachable experience that feels as if it has always been part of the town’s fabric.
