Little Goat, a new café, bakery, pantry, and restaurant in the heart of Rhinebeck, brings a fresh but timeless charm to the town’s historic Main Street. Created by Inness hotelier Taavo Somer and longtime collaborator Erin Winters, the space blends the understated elegance of the Hudson Valley with a distinctly cozy, Nancy Meyers-inspired atmosphere. Housed in a restored 18th-century townhouse and adorned with Farrow & Ball hues and Nickey Kehoe lighting, the interior evokes the softness of an Impressionist painting—with thoughtful nods to Degas’s ballerinas and the warm, homey aesthetic of It’s Complicated’s Jane Adler. More than just a place to eat, Little Goat is a curated lifestyle destination. The menu, led by chef Brian Paragas, features Mediterranean-inflected fare like flatbreads with Calabrian chili and Hudson Valley trout, alongside pantry goods from local artisans such as Sparrowbush bread, Flamingo Estate balsamics, and Talbott & Arding cheeses. With floral arrangements by Ariel Dearie, shelves of French ceramics, and inviting seating throughout, Little Goat feels both elevated and deeply personal—a welcoming neighborhood space where families, food lovers, and design enthusiasts can gather again and again.
