Foxfire Bar Room & Restaurant
Nestled on ten serene acres between Woodstock and Phoenicia, Foxfire Mountain House and its Bar Room & Restaurant blend rustic Catskills charm with an adventurous, globally inspired menu. Inside the century-old inn, guests gather by the fire or on the veranda for a relaxed, intimate dining experience that feels both timeless and transportive.
Helmed by Executive Chef Rob Escalante, the menu celebrates seasonality and local bounty through dishes like Fried Squid with yuzu kosho cocktail sauce, Steamed Mussels in aleppo butter and white wine, and Roasted Duck with farro, porcini, and morello cherries. Mains range from comforting Spaghetti alla Zozzona to an Iberian Pork Chop with braised lentils and chimichurri, while desserts such as Sticky Toffee Pudding with crème fraîche and Chocolate Sesame Tart with cherry miso ice cream end the evening on an indulgent note.
The Foxfire Bar Room features handcrafted cocktails like the Maple Old Fashioned and Spicy Pomegranate Mezcal Margarita, complemented by a curated wine list and a thoughtful selection of New York craft beers and whiskies. With its mix of vintage warmth, refined hospitality, and woodland beauty, Foxfire offers an experience that’s as much about community and craft as it is about the magic of dining in the Catskills.
Foxfire Mountain House
Bohemian, relaxed, and effortlessly chic, Foxfire Mountain House feels like your globe-trotting uncle’s country estate — a place where travelers gather for conversation, connection, and slow moments by the fire. Set on ten private acres in the Catskills, the century-old inn features 11 guest rooms, two private cabins, and a four-bedroom cottage, all designed with a mix of global finds and local craftsmanship. Inside, sheepskin rugs, Moroccan tiles, and sunbleached wood meet vintage silver, antlers, and butterflies, creating an atmosphere that’s equal parts cozy and cosmopolitan. Outside, hammocks sway near lily pools and bonfire pits, inviting guests to linger well past sunset.
Founded by chef Tim Trojian and television producer Eliza Clark, Foxfire is a love story built from the ground up. The couple spent years renovating the historic inn by hand — laying tile, pouring concrete, and crafting custom furniture — before opening its doors in 2016 as a boutique hotel, wedding venue, and creative retreat. Their shared vision of warmth and authenticity extends to the Foxfire Bar Room & Restaurant, where guests can enjoy seasonal, globally inspired dishes alongside handcrafted cocktails and a smart, locally driven wine and beer list.
Whether visiting for a Sunday supper, a weekend wedding, or an off-season escape, Foxfire offers a sense of place that feels at once worldly and deeply rooted. From the Moroccan-tiled veranda to the flicker of firelight in the glass pavilion, every corner invites rest, curiosity, and a touch of Catskills magic — proof that the good life is often found off the beaten path.
